On April 24, 2026, the Youth Union – Student Association of LHU, in collaboration with the Dong Nai Provincial Red Cross Association, the Blood Transfusion Center of Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, and C.P. Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company, successfully organized the 54th voluntary blood donation program. The event attracted enthusiastic participation from faculty members and students across the University, creating a vibrant, warm, and meaningful atmosphere.
This annual activity carries profound humanitarian significance, reflecting the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, and compassion among the University’s faculty members and students. The program was also part of a series of meaningful activities celebrating the 51st anniversary of the Reunification Day of Vietnam (April 30, 1975 – 2026), the 140th International Workers’ Day (May 1, 1886 – 2026), and the 29th anniversary of LHU (September 24, 1997 – 2026).
Under the slogan “A drop of blood given, a life saved”, the program received more than 350 registrations from faculty members and students. As a result, the Blood Transfusion Center of Cho Ray Hospital collected 263 valuable units of blood.
The donated blood will be delivered to hospitals and medical facilities, helping to save the lives of many patients in urgent need of transfusions and treatment. Beyond its life-saving impact, the activity also spreads the spirit of solidarity and compassion among students while serving as an opportunity to educate youth union members and young people about community responsibility and contributing to the well-being of society.
The voluntary blood donation program once again affirms the pioneering spirit and strong sense of social responsibility among LHU youth, contributing to bringing hope and life to patients in need of blood.
