LHU strengthens partnership with Capital Normal University: A journey built on trust and educational commitment

As part of its educational engagement activities in China, the LHU delegation, led by Associate Professor Dr. Lam Thanh Hien, Rector, visited and signed an important MoU with Capital Normal University (CNU) in Beijing. Beyond opening up new academic opportunities, the visit also provided a meaningful opportunity for the University’s leadership to meet and encourage LHU students currently studying there.

LHU’s growing role in Vietnam–China educational cooperation

CNU is one of LHU’s key strategic partners in Beijing. Notably, LHU is proud to be among the 17 Vietnamese universities selected to participate in initiatives resulting from the State visit of the General Secretary and President of Vietnam to China. LHU’s presence at the forum hosted by Tsinghua University, together with the signing of this latest MoU with CNU, further reinforces the University’s reputation and position on the international cooperation map.

A strategic partnership marked by impressive milestones

During the meeting, leaders from both universities officially signed the MoU, laying the foundation for future collaboration in faculty and student exchange programs, as well as joint scientific research initiatives.

In a warm and open atmosphere, Associate Professor Dr. Lam Thanh Hien expressed his sincere appreciation to the leadership of CNU for their strong support of LHU students. Of the eight prestigious scholarships granted to Vietnamese students this year, four were awarded to LHU outstanding students. These students, all majoring in Chinese Language, are currently participating in a one-year exchange program with full scholarships.

An unexpected reunion far from home

One of the most memorable moments of the trip was the unexpected encounter between the LHU delegation and LHU students studying on the CNU campus.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoang Oanh, Head of the Office of International Affairs and a member of the delegation, shared emotionally “Although a busy career in education makes it difficult to remember every student’s face, being warmly greeted by former students in a foreign country is truly one of the happiest moments of being an educator".

During the brief meeting, the students expressed both excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to study in a professional international environment. Although they had only been in Beijing for a few months, the LHU students had adapted quickly thanks to the dedicated support and care from lecturers and staff at CNU. Their confidence, smiles, and growing maturity reflected the positive impact of the partnership between the two universities.

Looking toward a stronger partnership

The MoU signing ceremony and this working visit represented more than a formal agreement; they reflected the continued strengthening of friendship and cooperation between LHU and CNU. With strong support from its partner and the dedication of the University’s leadership, students majoring in Chinese Language will have increasing opportunities to access valuable scholarships and study at some of Beijing’s leading universities.

The visit concluded with warm handshakes and renewed commitment, marking another promising step forward in LHU’s journey toward educational development and international integration.
