Strengthening international collaboration with AKANE human resources company and Japanese partners

On the morning of July 10, 2025, Lac Hong University (LHU) hosted a delegation from AKANE Human Resources Company and its Japanese partners. This meeting formalized a program to send LHU engineering students for internships and employment at AEON Group – one of Japan's leading retail conglomerates – underscoring LHU's commitment to the internationalization of education.

    Formalizing International Cooperation Strategy

This meeting is part of a series of activities to solidify the strategic cooperation agreement signed between LHU and AKANE in July 2024. The collaboration aims to provide foreign language training and develop high-quality technical human resources for the Japanese market. Building on this spirit, the current visit and working session represent the next step in realizing a one-year internship program in Japan for students in Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, and Control and Automation Engineering Technology.

The LHU delegation included Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, Vice Rector of the university, along with other esteemed leaders. Representing AKANE and its Japanese partners were Mr. Nguyen Huu Nghia, General Director of AKANE; Mr. Ochi, Head of Human Resources Department at AEON Group; Mr. Hideo Tadokoro, Director of Ohki Vietnam Co., Ltd.; and representatives from AEON Delight and Ohki Vietnam Co., Ltd.

The meeting was conducted in a formal, open, and productive atmosphere. All parties shared insights into their training capabilities, human resource needs, intern acceptance criteria, and long-term development prospects. Notably, representatives from AEON Group and Ohki Japan highly commended LHU's training capacity and collaborative spirit. They particularly praised the students' preparedness in terms of skills, foreign language proficiency, and work ethic, aligning well with Japanese corporate standards.

Elevating Human Resources, Broadening Global Horizons

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Lam emphasized:

“At LHU, we don’t just train engineers—we equip them with the mindset and skills to integrate into the global workforce, through long-term, practice-based partnerships with international enterprises.”

    Contributing to Sustainable Development

This working session with AKANE Human Resources Company and its Japanese partners clearly demonstrates LHU's persistent pursuit of an internationalized education strategy. Beyond enhancing training quality, the university is progressively opening doors for its students – Vietnam's future engineers – to integrate globally, helping Vietnamese human resources incrementally conquer the global labor market.

This collaboration strongly reflects LHU's commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

    • SDG 4 (Quality Education): LHU consistently improves its training quality, equipping students with global skills and adaptability skills, thereby fostering lifelong learning opportunities through international work experience.

    • SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth): This program generates quality employment opportunities for LHU students in the international market, contributing to Vietnam's sustainable economic development.

    • SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals): This relationship actively promotes global partnerships in education and human resource development, yielding a significant sustainability impact.
