Lac Hong University's Labor Union organizes annual health check-ups for staff in 2025

ELEVATING FACULTY AND STAFF WELL-BEING,

FOSTERING A SUSTAINABLE EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT

BIEN HOA, VIETNAM – On June 16, 2025, Lac Hong University (LHU), in collaboration with its grassroots Trade Union, successfully organized its annual periodic health check-up program for all Faculty members and Staff (F&S). This recurring initiative carries profound humanitarian significance, underscoring LHU's exceptional commitment to the well-being of its staff, officials, and lecturers – individuals who play a pivotal role in the mission of education.

The program was executed with the expert cooperation of leading reputable hospitals, including Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Dong Nai International Hospital, and Shing Mark University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital. F&S members underwent comprehensive general health screenings, encompassing blood tests, biochemical analyses, blood pressure checks, cardiovascular assessments, liver and kidney function tests, and essential blood sugar and lipid profile evaluations. Crucially, the medical team provided direct consultation and detailed guidance for cases with abnormal indicators, ensuring timely health monitoring or referral for specialized treatment when necessary.

This periodic health check-up activity is not merely a welfare policy; it is a cornerstone of Lac Hong University's sustainable development strategy. It directly contributes to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being, by ensuring the physical and mental welfare of its entire workforce. A healthy workforce forms a robust foundation for educational quality and productivity.

Furthermore, the program demonstrates LHU's commitment to SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, by cultivating a safe, healthy, and stable working environment. This fosters a sense of security among F&S, enhancing their work performance and encouraging long-term dedication to the university. This dedication to well-being also embodies SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, showcasing effective collaboration between the University, its Trade Union, and medical partners to deliver tangible benefits to the internal community.

Within the framework of the THE Impact Rankings, this initiative affirms LHU's contribution to Stewardship – reflecting the university's responsibility in sustainably managing its human resources and prioritizing their welfare; and Teaching – as a healthy faculty and staff directly enhance the quality of training and research. The Lac Hong University Trade Union reaffirms its commitment to continue fostering such meaningful activities, aiming to continuously elevate the well-being and welfare of the entire teaching staff, thereby promoting the sustainable development of the university and the broader community.
