Factors Affecting the Development of Green Banking: A Study at VCB – Ho Chi Minh City Branch

Abstract: This study intends to identify and measure factors aৼecting green banking development at the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (VCB) - Ho Chi Minh City Branch (VCB.HCM). This  study  uses regression  analysis  to  analyze  a  survey  sample  of  368  VCB.HCM  employees  use  a non-probabilistic convenience method. The research results show that all factors impact green banking development with decreasing levels as follows: (1) Support policies; (2) Awareness of VCB leaders; (3) Capacity of VCB employees; (4) Financial capacity of VCB; (5) Application of banking technology of  VCB;  and  (6)  Green  investment  needs.  From  the  research  results,  the  authors  propose  several management implications to contribute to promoting green banking development at VCB.HCM.
